Colon adenocarcinoma (COAD)—22 CpG loci in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Infinium HumanMethylation450 BeadChip array. In silico two-dimensional hierarchical analysis was performed to evaluate the extent of methylation among known candidate biomarkers (22 CpG probes, 18 genes, X-axis) to determine the extent of differential methylation in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) (Y-axis, purple = carcinoma, N = 289; green = normal, N = 38). Rows and columns were clustered according to average linkage and Euclidian distance, using unadjusted β-methylation values. 13 methylated genes (the top right cluster, APC and HIST1H3C) were selected for further evaluation by QM-MSP
